Costume Changes for Life Changes | Episode |

May 15, 2012

Sally talks to T.V. Personality/Fashion Expert Amanda Luttrell Garrigus about tips for tweaking your wardrobe when you have a change in your life.

...and just when you thought you coudln't take all the AMAZEBALLS tips from Amanda, she's given us a few more (see below.)  And the very best part of making these small changes to support big changes in your life is that they are FREE. No one's suggesting you go out and buy a whole new wardrobe. And hey, if you can't even deal with making these costume changes, then change something else that's easier and will make an impact -- like: smiling more! practicing random acts of kindness! OR: eating more dark chocolate!

MORE TRANSFORMATIONAL TIPS FROM AMANDA:

- Don't be a slave to trends: honor yourself by wearing what YOU like, not what others say you should.

- Take risks: you wouldn't want other people to place limits on you, so don't place any on yourself! Stretch the limits of your sartorial repertoire and wear something you love that's a little outside your comfort zone.

- Accessorize: Never underestimate the power of an accessory to elevate and/or transform a look. Same dress with a different shoe, heel, flat, boot -- stretches its use and keeps it interesting.

AMANDA SAYS: CUFF YOUR DENIM! Who'da thunk it would make such a difference?! Complete transformation of mood and 'tude! Try it for yourself! It's #VGL, I tell ya.

I scour and hunt in various good wills and jewish women council thrift shops. I never feel guilty when i spend 6 dollars for a shirt or skirt and I find some amazing vintage pieces! I also like to develop my own sense of style, finding unique and quirky prints and patterns to pair together. Clothing for me, is a way to express myself and have fun evry single day- it's wearable art! //// VERY COOL, AMELIA! GREAT IDEAS FOR PLACES TO HUNT! - SALLY

I have a favorite consignment shop. I can stay on budget by "trading in" and using my cash to purchase something new. I love that I can step out of my Style "box" and try new styles and colors with out breaking the budget. The ladies at the store have my wish list on needed items to pull a look together and always call me when that opportunity comes in the store. I use inspiration boards for looks I love, again helping me stay on budget finding that perfect piece to keep me feeling stylish and beautiful! ///VERY COOL, JULIA! THAT'S AN EASY IDEA -- FINDING A GO-TO CONSIGNMENT SHOP -- THAT ANYONE CAN DO...THANKS, SALLY

So sorry to hear that you're going through a NVGL time relationship-wise, but I’m sure you'll bounce back quickly. Good luck with the next phase! Great video! I love the tall cuff — perfect for the warmer weather :)

Hey Sal, Thanks for the tip. I have been rockin' the large cuff since last week when I saw this post. Thanks for helping me renew my summer wardrobe! xx jess ///////YOU ARE MOST WELCOME! ROCK THE CUFF, AMANDA-STYLE! xoSALLY
